PFP-IDE is excited to announce an upcoming webinar on how to build sustainable, independent partnerships between U.S. universities and disability leaders in East Africa. The webinar on Thursday, 27 May at 7:00 PM East Africa Time (12:00 PM U.S. Eastern) will include a panel of Professional Fellows alumni and their U.S. university mentors who have led inclusive employment and education projects that created ongoing learning opportunities for disability champions in both the U.S. and East Africa.
The panel will share valuable information and answer questions about:
- How U.S. university centers on disabilities create formal agreements (MoUs) that enable exchange of knowledge on disability with institutions and DPOs in East Africa;
- How to use online platforms to create low-cost live trainings for disability professionals, and adapt best practices to suit local needs.
- How to create sustainable partnerships that build African DPOs’ capacity and create new professional development opportunities for U.S. & East African disability leaders.
- How to join or connect with the African Association of Disability and Self-Advocacy Organisations (AADISAO), one of the largest networks of disability rights organizations in Africa.
