Allan Kabaale is the Executive Director of the Disability Employment Rights Initiative (DERI) in Kampala, Uganda. He is one of his country’s most active inclusive employment self-advocates, having directly lobbied Uganda’s Parliament for changes to employment policy and led community-based trainings for persons with disabilities seeking to find jobs and engage their leaders.
Archy Gomba is the Founder and Director of the Shirati for Active Rehabilitation and Development Organisation (SARDO), an NGO that fosters the rights, health, and welfare of women and children living with disabilities and their families in northwestern Tanzania.
Bijal Lal is a special educator and the founder of Tujumuishe Tanzania, an organization that promotes inclusive employment, youth transition, and inclusive education in Tanzanian communities and schools. Formerly a Special Needs Teacher and Transition Expert at the Almuntazir Special Education Needs School (AMSEN) in Dar es Salaam, Bijal is an expert on independent living and transition issues, and trains other teachers who support adolescents and young adults with disabilities, helping them guide youth toward securing employment and attaining personal independence.
Elizabeth Mang’eni is a Trade Development Officer for Kenya’s Ministry of Industry, Trade and Cooperatives. She has dedicated her career to empowering women and girls with disabilities by promoting local small entrepreneurship, inclusive job skills training, and programs that educate people with disabilities about business management and savings.
Fredrick Odinga is a Social Accountability Program Manager with Voluntary Service Overseas (VSO) Kenya, a branch of VSO international that creat lasting change through working with volunteers to supports inclusive education, resilient livelihood and social accountability.
Joel Kawanguzi is a Coordinator at the Charitable Disability Organisation (CDO). He plays an important role in implementing the network’s programs and monitoring their success across Uganda.
