As the outbound program gets underway for the spring 2018 PFP-IDE cohort, photos and stories have been shared. Today we would like to highlight the work of Hassan Waddimba (Kampala, Uganda) and his mentor, Dr Megan Peters (University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics Section). This joint outbound project focuses on sampling a selection of government ministries, departments, agencies, and local governments to determine the extent to which individuals with disabilities are employed in the public sector in Uganda, and the perceived benefits of this employment to the individual and community. This surveying will later lead to the development of policy proposals and government recommendations.
